CUTHBERT, Ga. -- The Tigers rallied for 5 runs in the bottom of the 4th inning to take game one 7-3 and Roman Oliu (2-2) allowed just 2 hits, while striking out 6, in a complete-game shutout to win game two, 4-0 to complete the sweep against Point University JV at the Hord Athletic Complex on Monday.
In game one, Spencer Nelson had a big 2-RBI single to push the Tigers back ahead in the bottom of the 4th, Chris Schwarzer went 2 for 3, Andrew Compton had a pair of RBI, and Jacob Lane ran his record to 2-2 on the season, allowing 5 hits and 2 earned runs, while striking out 5, in 5 innings of work. Andrew Wingate came on to record his 1st save of the year, striking out 2, and allowing just 1 hit in 2 innings of relief.
Game two saw Josh Peters go 4 for 4, score 2 runs and drive in another, while Connor Nalley went 1 for 3 with 3-RBI to pace the Tiger attack, and Oliu smothered every attempt for the SkyHawks to get on the board.
The Tigers take on Enterprise State CC (AL) in a single nine inning game on Thursday night at Hord. Game time is 6:00 pm.
