MACON, Ga. -- Erik Sundstrom shot 78 in today's opening round of the NJCAA Region 17 Golf Tournament, hosted by Georgia Military College and the Brickyard Golf Club, to trail 1st round individual leader Andrew Nagel of ABAC by 3 strokes, while Jacob Whann carded an 81, and Anthony Whobrey signed for an 86 as the Tigers shot 335 as a team. The Tigers will conclude the tournament on Tuesday with 18 holes in the morning, followed by 18 more in the afternoon.

Sundstrom sits alone in 6th place in the individual competition, while Whann is T9th and Whobrey is alone in 14th.

Head Coach Aaron Feyes remains optimistic, saying "Well, we've dug ourselves a hole, but the entire team is very capable of going low, and there are 36 holes left, instead of the normal 18. We don't need everybody to shoot 63 or 64, just play to their capabilities."
