LaGRANGE, Ga. -- The Lady Fighting Tiger bats exploded on Saturday in LaGrange, Ga. pounding out 14 runs on 13 hits to cruise to a mercy-ruled 14-3 win in game one, before adding another 12 runs on 12 hits in game two for a 12-3 win and a sweep of the LaGrange College JV. The Tigers now open their GCAA schedule on Tuesday at the Hord Athletic Complex with a doubleheader against East Ga. State.

In game one, Katelynn Simpson went 3 for 4, scored 3 runs and drove in 5 runs, and Charlie Smith also went 3 for 4 with 3-RBI to pace the Tiger attack. Kierra West had a pair of doubles and 2-RBI, and Smith ran her record to 7-4 with a win in the circle.

Madison Whitehead went 3 for 5, scored 2 runs, and drove in 1 run to lead the Lady Tigers in game two. Taylor Sheffield, Kenley Kennedy, and Kaitlyn Smith all had a pair of hits, with Sheffied scoring 3 runs, Kennedy driving in 2 runs, and Smith scoring twice. Angela Heimback had a 3-RBI double and Sharmaine ran her record to 2-2 on the season with the win.

The Tigers host East Ga. State on Tuesdayat Hord. The doubleheader will begin at 2:00 pm.
