CUTHBERT, Ga.-- Head Coach Donna Rountree begins her fifth season in Cuthbert, as the Lady Fighting Tigers travel to Wadley, AL for their season opener versus Southern Union State Community College on Wednesday night at 7:30 pm.

Rountree welcomes back 10 sophomores from last year's squad, most who received extensive playing time, and bring a load of experience. Said Rountree, "The core of this year's team were thrown into the fire last year, and had to take their lumps, but have returned this year, ready to dish a little out."

Expectations are high for the Tigers, after setting a school record last season with 7 match wins, and a berth in the 1st round of the NJCAA playoffs.

The ladies have a tough, twenty match schedule that will take them to Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina, against some of the premier volleyball programs in the Southeast.

Concluding, Rountree added, "If we can stay healthy, I think we have a special team this year."
