Tigers Fall to Enterprise State, 61-59
CUTHBERT, Ga. — In a tough matchup against Enterprise State Community College, Andrew College takes the loss, 61-59.
This marks the second straight loss for the Fighting Tigers as well as their second straight after leading at the half, 38-36.
This game was destined to be a dogfight. Through the first 10 minutes of play, the game was tied 18-18, a trend throughout the match. The Tigers would then go on an eight-point swing, with Devin Moise scoring all eight points to give the Tigers a 28-23 lead.
No team held a lead larger than six points throughout the match. However, with around 12 minutes left in the second half, Moses McDowell from ESCC exploded for a huge dunk to take the momentum.
With the game being so close throughout, momentum and its shifts on both sides changed the outcome. With 1:25 left in the second half, the Tigers came up clutch with a much-needed steal and fast-break layup by Jasiyah Suber to bring Andrew within one, 60-59.
However, the Tigers were unable to capitalize off a missed free throw, and with 0:01 left on the clock, a costly turnover gave ESCC the victory.
The Tigers have just one game remaining for the fall semester, Dec. 15 versus Florida State College at Jacksonville. The game tips off at 6 p.m.
