Jasiyah Suber Drops a Career-High 31 points as the Fighting Tigers Beat Georgia Highlands College 87-78
CUTHBERT, Ga - With an 87-78 victory over Georgia Highlands College, the Fighting Tigers have won three straight for the first time this season, highlighted by a career-high 31-point performance from sophomore guard Jasiyah Suber.
Suber added five rebounds and two assists while showcasing his ability as a three-level scorer. He shot 71.4 percent (10-for-14) from the field and 67 percent (2-for-3) from beyond the arc. With three Tigers unavailable Saturday, including Joshua Habersham, Elijah Hightower and Jeremy Bernard, Suber stepped up on the offensive end while providing strong defensive play throughout the game. He scored Andrew College's first seven points, setting the tone for his career night.
Saturday's game marked Suber's third consecutive double-digit scoring performance. Over that stretch, he is averaging 19.7 points per game while shooting just over 50 percent from the field. Suber was one of three Tigers to score in double figures, including Elijah White with 20 points and Xavier Burkes, who finished with 11 points, eight rebounds and five assists.
In just his second game back from injury, White recorded a new career high in points, surpassing his previous total of 15 set on Feb. 22, 2025, against South Georgia Technical College. White is finding his footing, having scored just eight points in his first game back from injury, however, White's performance Saturday was an encouraging sign as he continues to regain his rhythm.
After dropping 13 straight matchups against Georgia Highlands, the Fighting Tigers secured the win and improved to 2-1 in conference play. Andrew College controlled the game through a united front, stifling defense and uplifting offensive performances from Suber and White. Despite losing the turnover battle, 13-9, the Tigers controlled the game from the opening minutes and never relinquished the lead. Andrew College built its advantage to as many as 17 points, securing their third straight victory.
The Fighting Tigers Men's Basketball Team returns to action Wednesday, Jan. 21, in a conference matchup against Central Georgia Technical College at 3 p.m.
