Andrew Falls to South Georgia State in Season Finale
CUTHBERT, Ga - In their final game of the 2025-26 regular season, the Andrew College Men's Basketball team fell 86-74 to South Georgia State College.
Despite a strong start in the opening minutes of the first half, the Tigers went into the break trailing 48-33. They were led in scoring through the first 20 minutes by sophomore G Jasiyah Suber, who recorded six points, two rebounds, one assist and a block.
Despite being down 15 to the No. 2 team in the GCAA, the Fighting Tigers refused to back down. They came out of halftime firing on all cylinders, eventually cutting the lead to eight with about 10 minutes remaining. Unfortunately, turnovers proved costly in the end. Andrew finished the game with 19 turnovers.
Despite the loss, the Fighting Tigers had four players score in double figures, led by sophomore F Elijah Hightower with 13 points. He was followed by Xavier Burkes, Jeremy Bernard and Elijah White, who each finished with 10 points.
Saturday's contest marked the final game of the 2025-26 regular season. Due to Saturday's loss, the Fighting Tigers will not compete in the 2026 GCAA conference tournament.
Andrew College is a National Junior College Athletic Association Division I school located in Cuthbert, Georgia. The Fighting Tigers sponsor 15 sports and compete in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association. Andrew College will move to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, effective July 1, 2026.
