Fighting Tigers Announce 42nd Season's Schedule

CUTHBERT, Ga. -- The Andrew College men's soccer program under the leadership of third-year head coach Rudy Roediger, announced its schedule for the program's 42nd season on Friday. (2016 Schedule)

"We are excited to get back on the field again this fall and face a challenging schedule that will give our players opportunities to be challenged on a regularity," said Roediger. "After tasting such a high level of success in 2015, the team has increased expectations as we enter this historic program's 42nd season."

The Fighting Tigers have a loaded schedule. Andrew will play seven home matches, plus two home exhibitions at Hord Field.

The 2016 preseason begins at home against Liberty SC on Aug. 7 and will be followed by the second and final tune up match against Middle Georgia State on Aug. 13. 

The Boys in Blue & Gold then head to the University of Alabama Birmingham to face Holmes CC (Miss.) on Aug. 20. Then take on former Fighting Tigers' All-American Joe Nasco and the NCAA Division II Panthers of Birmingham Southern (Ala.) on Aug. 21.

The regular season gets underway a week later with a game in Selma, Ala., on Aug. 27 against USCAA member Concordia-Alabama.

The home opener against NJCAA Division I newcomer Daytona State College (Fla.) will take place on Sept. 3 at Hord Field.

AC then heads on the road for three straight matches Sept. 9 in Thomasville, Ga., against Thomas University JV followed by a pair of matches against Broward College (Fla.) and ASA Miami (Fla.) at Broward College on Sept. 17 and 18 respectively.

Andrew heads back home to open the GCAA Region 17 slate with a Sept. 23 contest against Georgia Military.

Road games against Jones County (Miss.) on Sept. 24 and Mississippi Gulf Coast (Sept. 25) precede Homecoming against Concordia-Alabama on Oct. 1 under the lights on campus at Gilbert Field. The Fighting Tigers then host NAIA newcomer Forest Trail on Oct. 8.

Conference play continues on the road in Milledgeville, Ga., for the second of three all important matches against Georgia Military on Oct. 14.

The Boys in Blue & Gold return home for the remainder of the season first hosting Thomas University JV on Oct. 16 before hosting ASA Miami (Oct. 22), and the defending NJCAA Division I national champions, Louisburg on Oct. 23.

The regular season and GCAA finale of its trio of matches is scheduled for Oct. 29 against Georgia Military.
