Bio
Carnell Learmond enters his first season as the head men’s soccer coach at Andrew College.
Learmond brings extensive experience as a coach, player and administrator. His most recent role came at the University of Fort Lauderdale, where he served as senior admissions counselor and head men’s soccer coach. He also spent time as the head boys soccer coach at J.P. Taravella High School in Coral Springs, Florida, during the 2025 season.
Prior to his time in Coral Springs, Learmond served as the head women’s soccer coach at Union Commonwealth University from 2022-24, the women’s assistant soccer coach at Northeastern Junior College from 2019-22 and the men’s soccer assistant coach at Lindsey Wilson College from 2015-16.
Learmond began his coaching career at the high school level, serving as the head women’s soccer coach at Blanche Ely High School in Pompano Beach, Florida, from 2014-15.
As a player, Learmond, a native of Jamaica, made appearances with the Under-21 National Team and competed in the National Premier League, the Confederation Cup and with the Sporting Central Academy in Jamaica’s Major League.
Learmond attended Lindsey Wilson College, where he appeared in 80 matches, totaling 48 goals — seventh most in school history — to go along with 14 assists. He helped lead the Blue Raiders to the 2009 NAIA national championship, earning all-tournament team honors and multiple offensive player of the week awards. During the 2009 season, he was named the Mid-South Conference Player of the Year and an NAIA second-team All-American.
He also competed professionally in the Premier Development League, playing for the Indiana Invaders, West Virginia Chaos and Schulz Academy.
At the prep level, Learmond led Glenmuir High School to the program’s first-ever triple crown in 2004, capturing titles at the Ben Francis Cup, deCosta Cup and Olivier Shield tournaments. He also earned the Golden Boot Award during the deCosta Cup.
Learmond later participated in the Pepsi Goal campaign, which featured global soccer figures and highlighted elite players from around the world. In partnership with Pepsi Jamaica, he was featured on a limited-edition Pepsi bottle, an experience that reflects both his level of play and the global reach of the sport.
With experience across multiple competitive levels, Learmond brings a strong emphasis on player development, recruiting and program growth as Andrew College men’s soccer continues its transition into the NAIA.
