Andrew College Softball Splits the Doubleheader against Chattahoochee Valley
CUTHBERT, Ga - After securing their first win against Reid State Technical College, 5-4, Andrew College geared up for a home doubleheader against Chattahoochee Valley Community College. Andrew would split the doubleheader and take Game 1 in a dominant 11-6 victory before falling in Game 2, 12-0.
Game 1
After earning her first win in the victory over Reid State, RHP Sara Tindall once again made the start and finished the game allowing 9 H, 4 R, ER, BB with one strikeout over 5.0 IP. Wednesday's outing marked her second consecutive win.
Along with Tindall's performance in the circle, the Lady Tigers were locked in at the plate.
Batting out of the leadoff spot, 2B Michelle Chicas went 4-for-5 with 2 2B, 2 RBI and four runs scored, marking her fourth multi-hit game of the season.
Six Fighting Tigers recorded multiple hits, including CF Alexis Garcia (2-for-4, RBI, R), Isabella Longergan (3-for-4, BB, R), SS Millie Wilson (2-for-3), 3B Jailyn Nickeo (2-for-4, 2R) and RF Jazmyn Lang (2-for-4, 2R, 2SB).
Despite jumping out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first, the Fighting Tigers were held to just one run through three innings. Entering the bottom of the fourth and trailing 4-1, Andrew responded with three consecutive innings of three or more runs to take the lead and secure the 11-6 victory.
Game 2
Following their dominant performance in Game 1, Andrew looked to carry that momentum into the second contest.
After holding the Pirates to six runs in Game 1, Chattahoochee Valley scored six runs through the first two innings of Game 2 and never looked back.
Despite the loss, Chicas (1-for-3) extended her hitting streak to three games, while C EmmaGrace Weaver secured her first hit and SB of the season.
The Fighting Tigers return to action on Saturday, Feb. 28, as they suit up for their first conference matchup of the season against Gordon State College. Saturday's doubleheader will have a Game 1 first pitch set for 1 p.m.
Andrew College is a National Junior College Athletic Association Division I school located in Cuthbert, Georgia. The Fighting Tigers sponsor 14 sports and compete in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association. Andrew College will move to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, effective July 1, 2026.
