Game Preview: Andrew Opens GCAA Tournament Against East Georgia State
CUTHBERT, Ga - Following a tough loss to South Georgia Technical College to close out the 2025-26 regular season, the Fighting Tigers will suit up against East Georgia State College on Monday, March 9, in the GCAA quarterfinals.
Monday's game against East Georgia will mark the fourth meeting between the two teams this season. In the previous three matchups, the Fighting Tigers are 1-2 against the Bobcats. Regardless of their recent struggles, the 2025-26 Lady Tigers have exceeded expectations throughout the regular season.
After winning just seven games the previous year, the Fighting Tigers not only almost doubled their win total but, with a victory in Monday's quarterfinal matchup, they could make history and tie the program record for wins in a season with 14.
Andrew's 13 wins this season are its most since the 2016-17 Women's Basketball team finished 13-16. Their 8-7 home record also surpasses that team's seven total home wins.
With a victory Monday, the Fighting Tigers would advance to face South Georgia Technical College on Thursday, March 12, at 6 p.m.
Andrew College is a National Junior College Athletic Association Division I school located in Cuthbert, Georgia. The Fighting Tigers sponsor 15 sports and compete in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association. Andrew College will move to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, effective July 1, 2026.
