Cuthbert, GA - The Fighting Tigers traveled to Franklin Springs, GA to compete in the first competition of the year at the Georgia Open. "I am beyond proud of the way we battled adversity when things didn't go our way, we stayed in the fight with our energy and effort" stated Coach Gordy. The program collected the First Match Victory in Program History as Alex Tabb (Leesburg, GA) led the day off with a 20-12 Major Decision victory over Trevon Hawkins-Robertson [Keiser University]. This is just the beginning of our programs tradition and standard of excellence. Excited for the young freshman to get his first collegiate victory said Coach. Andrew Fighting Tigers tallied 37.5 team points with 8 wrestlers with at least one win. Heavyweight Abe Preston placed 5th in the tournament. "Having a placer in our first ever tournament gives us something to build on moving forward" Wrestlers tallies wins on their record were Alex Tabb 2-2 (Leesburg, GA) - Joaquin Crook 2-2 (Baldwin, AL) - Riley Brewer 3-2 (Leesburg, GA) - Abe Preston 4-2 (Wetumpka, AL) - Jabare George 2-2 (Waycross, GA). Other Wrestlers recording victories were Aiden Lipford (Macon, GA) - Trent Gormady (Columbus, GA) - Eli Brown (Byron, GA). 

The Fighting Tigers are set to hit the road again on November, 17th at the King Open in Bristol, Tennessee.
