Fighting Tigers set out for road dual at Huntingdon College | Dec. 11
CUTHBERT, Ga. — The Andrew College Fighting Tigers return to the mat this week as they prepare for a highly anticipated dual against the Division III Huntingdon College Hawks. With both programs looking to establish momentum early in the dual-meet portion of the season, Thursday night's showdown promises intensity, grit and a full slate of competitive matchups across the lineup.
Andrew College enters the dual looking to avenge a loss to Huntingdon College last year in its inaugural season, when the Tigers fell 21-19. The Tigers have continued to demonstrate steady improvement, and the coaching staff believes this lineup is poised for a strong showing.
"We have made some lineup adjustments and are looking for the fight and effort from our guys. If we can push the pace early and focus on scoring points, we should be in store for a good dual," said head coach Billy Gordy.
Key matchups are expected throughout the dual, especially in the middle weights, where both teams feature returning starters with postseason experience. Andrew College will look to capitalize on its depth down low and its ability to score late in matches.
With fans expected to fill the gym, the atmosphere should be electric as both teams battle for bragging rights and valuable momentum heading into next semester. For Andrew College, this dual represents more than just another contest, it's an opportunity to showcase the program's continued growth and set the tone for the rest of the season. First whistle is set for 6 p.m. CT in Montgomery, Al, on the campus of Huntingdon College.
This will be the final competition of the fall 2025 season. The Fighting Tigers will head into the break for much-needed rest and recovery before competing in the NJCAA Coaches Duals on Jan. 9-10.
Andrew College is a National Junior College Athletic Association Division I school located in Cuthbert, Georgia. The Fighting Tigers sponsor 14 sports and compete in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association. Andrew College will move to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, effective July 1, 2026.
