Andrew College Set to Compete at 2026 NJCAA Gulf Atlantic District Championships

SCRANTON, Pa - The Andrew College wrestling program will look to continue its postseason success this weekend as the Fighting Tigers travel to the 2026 NJCAA Gulf Atlantic District Championships. The tournament is scheduled for February 14 at Lackawanna College in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and will serve as the final qualifying event for the national tournament.

The Gulf Atlantic District Championships bring together programs from Regions 10, 17, 19, and 20, creating one of the most competitive NJCAA qualifying events in the country. Wrestling is scheduled to begin Saturday morning following weigh-ins and seeding meetings held the night before, setting the stage for a full day of high-level postseason competition.

Andrew College enters the tournament with momentum and confidence after establishing itself as one of the top programs in the district. The Fighting Tigers captured the Gulf Atlantic District team title last season, showcasing their depth and ability to perform under postseason pressure. The program scored 165 team points during last year’s championship run, finishing ahead of several strong programs from across the district.

The district tournament is crucial because it determines qualifiers for the NJCAA Wrestling Championships, which will take place March 6-7 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Wrestlers who place high in their respective weight classes earn automatic bids to the national stage, making every match critical as athletes pursue All-American honors and team success.

The 2026 field is expected to feature strong competition from multiple Region 19 programs, including perennial contenders such as Camden County, Sussex County, and the host Falcons of Lackawanna. These teams consistently produce national qualifiers and have played key roles in shaping the competitive balance within the district.

For Andrew College, success will likely hinge on balance across the lineup. The Fighting Tigers have built a reputation for developing talent throughout their roster, which has allowed them to score bonus points and secure national qualifiers across several weight classes. That depth has been a defining factor in the program’s rapid rise within NJCAA wrestling.

With national tournament berths on the line and a district title to defend, the Fighting Tigers will be looking to deliver another strong performance and continue building momentum heading into the national championships. The tournament promises to feature high-level matches, postseason intensity, and an opportunity for Andrew College wrestlers to solidify their place among the NJCAA’s elite.
