Bio
As the inaugural season came to a close, Coach Gordy and the Wrestling program ended in historic fashion. Gordy led the team to a Gulf-Atlantic District title while qualifying all 10 to the NJCAA National Tournament. Coach was named the NJCAA District Coach of the Year, while also mentoring the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the Tournament. As year 1 concludes, Gordy led the team to National Recognition finishing Top 20 in the Country, 1 All-American and 3 Nationally Ranked wrestlers in the final Polls.

Billy Gordy takes the helm of the inaugural Andrew College Wrestling program following a 4-year stint as Assistant Coach at Midway University. Gordy is thrilled to have the opportunity to come back to his home state of Georgia and represent Andrew College. “I would like to thank President Dr. Rusty Kennedy and Athletic Director Blake Williams for the privilege to build and lead the inaugural Men’s wrestling program and look forward to providing a first-class student athlete experience to Andrew College”, said Gordy. Gordy was named Mid-South Conference (MSC) Assistant Coach of the Year in the 2021-2022 Season. In his time there, he coached 6 Daktronics NAIA Men’s Wrestling Scholar-Athletes, 12 Mid-South Conference Men’s Wrestling Academic All-Conference award winners, a NAIA Men’s National Wrestler of the Week, 11 National Qualifiers, and the 2022 MSC Freshmen of the Year. Prior to joining the coaching ranks Gordy enjoyed a successful wrestling career at Emmanuel College where he was part of the 2016 and 2017 National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) National Championship teams. Gordy was also a MSC Academic All-American. Billy graduated from Midway University obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Management, while he also has a Master’s in Business Administration from Midway University.
Billy currently resides in Cuthbert, Georgia.
