Volleyball Splits Season Classic Opener
Cuthbert, Ga- Volleyball Splits in Season Opener Classic
Andrew College Volleyball is back and in going in full swing. Yesterday the Fighting Tigers went on the road to play in the Three Rivers Volleyball Classic Tournament at Georgia Highlands College.
In the first match the Fighting Tigers went up against Georgia Highlands. In the first set Andrew showed great team play and won the set 25 to 17. In the second and third sets Georgia Highlands was battling back and forth with the Fighting Tigers, but the Tigers prevailed and won the sets 25 to 21, to make it a sweep winning 3 sets to none.
Andrew overall had 17 kills but nine of them in third set. Andrew was let Karolina Cortes with having 5 kills & Akire Williams having 4 kills.
The second match was against Cleveland State Community College. Andrew battled throughout the entire match with Cleveland State but the Fighting Tigers fell short losing three straight sets.
Coach Harris for Andrew said that the girls tried their best and that the team can only grow from this loss and getting better.
The next game for the Fighting Tigers Volleyball team will be on September 2nd at Wesleyan College in Macon, GA.
Andrew College is an NJCAA Div.1 institution located in Cuthbert, GA. The Fighting Tigers sponsor 15 sports and compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association and in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association.
