Andrew College Student-Athlete Spotlight: Kandace Warren
CUTHBERT, Ga - Hailing from just about an hour outside of Cuthbert, Kandace Warren came to Andrew College out of Carroll High School in Ozark, Ala.
Coming out of Carroll, Warren was a consistent honor roll student, a trend that has continued during her academic career at Andrew. She was also recognized for her serve and as the best defensive player during her time in Ozark.
Now on the historic Andrew College campus, Warren is pursuing her degree in behavioral health education.
"College is an important part of building your future, so it should be taken seriously," said Warren. "Stay committed to completing your assignments, attending class, and making the most of every opportunity to learn and grow. While it is important to enjoy the college experience, maintaining balance and prioritizing your goals is key."
For a student-athlete, maintaining responsibilities is at the forefront. For Warren, she credits her mindset for her continued success both on and off the court.
"The same mindset applies to sports and personal growth. If you are not where you want to be yet, continue working hard to get there. Success does not happen overnight, and every practice or game will not always go perfectly," said Warren.
By embracing challenges, she is always ready no matter the situation, and through her faith, she feels she can handle any obstacle because she is not alone. When speaking on her mindset and her drive for success, she turned to Philippians 4:13.
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." - Philippians 4:13
At Andrew, Warren credits her teammates for making Cuthbert a memorable experience. She mentioned her time with teammates and friends among her favorite memories, adding, "the vibes were always great!"
Still in her freshman year, Warren has plenty of time to represent Andrew as a student-athlete, and the program is excited to see what comes next for the Ozark standout.
