CUTHBERT, Ga. -- The Lady Tigers started hot, and stayed hot, banging out 5 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning, on two long home runs, to ease to a 6-2 win, in game one, then pounded out 10 hits in game two for a 9-4 win over the Lady Stallions at the Hord Athletic Complex on Wednesday. The sweep lifts the Tigers to 3-3 in GCAA play.
Madison Beazley led off game one with her first collegiate home run, Katie Hayes drove in the second run, then Kenzi Maddox laced her 5th homer of the season, a 3-run shot that staked the Lady Tigers to an an early 5-0 lead. Beazley finished 3 for 4 in the game, Hayes went 2 for 4, and Kaitlyn Smith had a hit and an RBI for Tigers in game one.
The Tigers broke a 3-3 tie with 3 runs in the bottom of the third, added 2 runs in the 5th, and 1 run in the 6th, to pull away for the game two win. Hayes went 3 for 4 with an RBI, Beazley went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI, Cheyenne Tillman added a 2 for 3 day, Maddox had a hit and 2 RBI, while Kierra West went 1 for 1 with an RBI.
