Lady Tigers Fall to Albany Tech in Conference Matchup
CUTHBERT, Ga - In a hard-fought conference matchup, the Andrew College Women's Basketball team fell 83-70 to Albany Technical College. This marks the second loss to the Titans this season, with both coming by double digits.
Despite the margin, the Fighting Tigers displayed resilience and, to put it simply, fought to the end. Andrew even cut the Titans' lead to six points in the third quarter. Unfortunately, miscues, turnovers and Albany's offensive output ultimately secured the win for the Titans.
The Lady Tigers had four players score in double figures, led by Aaliyah Austin with a team-high 16 points. Braniya Baker added 14 points, while Tiyana Snowden and Jayla Fulks each finished with 10. After not scoring in double figures through the first 14 games of the season, Austin now has three such performances over her last five contests, including Wednesday night's career high.
To go along with the scoring output, guard Jasmyn Thomas put together another all-around performance, posting nine points, nine rebounds, including three offensive, six assists and one steal.
Wednesday's loss marks the Lady Tigers' first set of consecutive losses since starting the season 0-2. Andrew College returns to action on the road Saturday, Feb. 7, against Southern Crescent Technical College. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m.
