Billy Gordy enters his third year as the Head Men's Wrestling Coach for the Fighting Tigers.
In the inaugural season of Andrew College Men's Wrestling, Gordy led the Fighting Tigers to a historic finish, capturing the Gulf-Atlantic District championship and qualifying all 10 wrestlers for the NJCAA National Tournament.
Following the team's success, Gordy was named the NJCAA District Coach of the Year while also coaching the tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler. The Fighting Tigers finished their inaugural season ranked among the top 20 teams in the country and produced one All-American and three nationally ranked wrestlers in the final polls.
Gordy came to Andrew College following a four-year stint as an Assistant Wrestling Coach at Midway University. During his time with the program, Gordy was named the Mid-South Conference Assistant Coach of the Year following the 2021-22 season.
At Midway, Gordy coached six Daktronics NAIA Men's Wrestling Scholar-Athletes, 12 Mid-South Conference Men's Wrestling Academic All-Conference selections, an NAIA Men's National Wrestler of the Week, 11 national qualifiers and the 2022 Mid-South Conference Freshman of the Year.
Prior to joining the coaching ranks, Gordy enjoyed a successful wrestling career at Emmanuel College, where he was a member of the 2016 and 2017 National Wrestling Coaches Association national championship teams. Gordy also earned Mid-South Conference Academic All-American honors during his collegiate career.
Gordy graduated from Midway University with a bachelor's degree in sports management and later earned his Master of Business Administration from Midway.
A Georgia native, Gordy currently resides in Cuthbert.
