CUTHBERT, Ga - The Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association baseball coaches have announced their selections for this year's postseason awards. Four Andrew College baseball players were named to the GCAA All-Region Second Team following an impressive 2026 regular-season campaign. Those Fighting Tigers include RHP Nicholas Sloane, 3B Cameron Kenney, OF Brady DeRosso and IF/OF Jose Massanet, who earned the honor as a designated hitter.
This is not the first time some of the Cut Boys have been recognized this season, as Sloane and Kenney were both named GCAA Players of the Week. During those stretches, Kenney hit .563 with nine hits and 10 RBI, while Sloane posted a 2-0 record with a 3.00 ERA and eight strikeouts.
3B Cameron Kenney
Coming into the 2026 season, Kenney was slated to be one of the hottest bats in the conference. He not only met expectations but exceeded them, leading the Fighting Tigers in nearly every major offensive category.
During the regular season, Kenney slashed .445/.594/.685 (65-for-146) and led the team in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, doubles (14), RBI (42) and walks (41). He also ranked second on the team in runs scored (41) and home runs (7). Among GCAA leaders, Kenney ranked second in the conference in batting average.
Throughout the season, Kenney showcased all facets of his game, including his first multi-homer performance of the year on Feb. 6 vs. Wallace Community College-Dothan and a 17-game hitting streak from Feb. 3 to March 5. Over that stretch, he hit .521 (24-for-46) with eight doubles, four home runs, 18 walks and 15 runs scored.
RHP Nicholas Sloane
Throughout the regular season, the Fighting Tigers relied on Sloane as their No. 1 starter. He rose to the challenge, finishing the year with a 4.80 ERA over 69.1 innings pitched with 52 strikeouts and an 8-3 record. Sloane leads the team in ERA and wins and sits just one strikeout behind Brady Cunningham for the team lead.
Among qualified GCAA pitchers, Sloane ranked second in ERA and is tied for the conference lead with eight wins.
OF Brady DeRosso
Hailing from Moultrie, Ga., DeRosso made an immediate impact as a freshman, emerging as one of the most consistent bats and gloves in the Andrew lineup.
Primarily playing left field, DeRosso has proven to be a premier defender with the ability to play all three outfield positions. Over 45 games, he hit .333 (46-for-138) with 12 doubles, three triples, five home runs, 40 RBI, 28 walks and six stolen bases.
He currently leads the team in triples and ranks in the top five in every major offensive category.
DH Jose Massanet
Coming into the 2026 season, Massanet's role on the team was still developing. However, with his combination of speed, arm strength, defensive awareness and power at the plate, a breakout season quickly followed.
Massanet began the year at second base before moving to the outfield due to injury. He excelled in his new role, locking down the right-field position for much of the season while continuing to produce at the plate.
As a true freshman, Massanet finished his first NJCAA season batting .342 (41-for-120) with 35 RBI, six home runs and four stolen bases. Five of his six home runs came during conference play, along with 29 of his 35 RBI.
Andrew College is a National Junior College Athletic Association Division I school located in Cuthbert, Georgia. The Fighting Tigers sponsor 16 sports and compete in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association. Andrew College will move to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, effective July 1, 2026.
