Kaleb Podger Named to 2026 Andrew College Athletics Hall of Fame Class

CUTHBERT, Ga. – On Wednesday, Sept. 9, Andrew College Athletics and Athletic Director Brian Skortz announced the induction of Kaleb Podger into the 2026 class of the Andrew College Athletics Hall of Fame. Podger competed as a member of the Andrew College Baseball team from 2019-21.

"I am beyond grateful to be receiving this honor," said Podger. "I have dedicated 20 years of my life to the sport of baseball and to see the countless hours of hard work on and off the field pay off means the world to me. Some of best memories were made on the field and campus at Andrew and to be inducted into the schools Hall of Fame is an absolute honor! "

Over his three seasons at Andrew, including the shortened 2020 season, Podger appeared in 73 games and posted a career slash line of .420/.607/.601 (102-for-243) with six home runs, 66 RBI, 32 walks and 21 stolen bases. During his time at Andrew College, Podger was a pivotal member of Andrew College Baseball and "The Cut Boys," as they are affectionately known across Southwest Georgia. Through his hard work and dedication to the Fighting Tigers program, he helped lead the Fighting Tigers to the first NJCAA Region 17 Championship in program history.

Along with his production at the plate, Podger played Gold Glove-level defense in the outfield. Over his three seasons, Podger did not commit a single error and tallied seven outfield assists.

During his 2021 sophomore season, Podger posted a .457 batting average (86-for-188) and still holds the program record for the highest single-season batting average among players with a minimum of two at-bats per team game.

The numbers from his historic 2021 season remain among the best Andrew College Baseball has ever seen. Podger ranks throughout the program's single-season record book in hits (1st, 86), slugging percentage (3rd, .660), on-base percentage (3rd, .528), runs (4th, 59), RBI (5th, 56), total bases (5th, 124), hit by pitches (T-9th, eight), doubles (9th, 16) and home runs (T-10th, six).

Following his dominant 2021 campaign, Podger was named a third-team All-American for his standout play on the field.

Following his time in Cuthbert, Podger continued his collegiate career at Point University, where his success continued. With the Skyhawks, Podger posted a .416 batting average (64-for-154) with 43 RBI, 31 extra-base hits and 32 walks.

Podger came to Andrew College from Shaw High School in Columbus, Ga., just an hour away from Cuthbert. When he arrived, his goal was to play meaningful baseball. He did that and more, helping bring a championship to Cuthbert while putting together one of the best individual seasons in program history.

Now, Podger will forever hold his place in Andrew College Athletics history as a member of the 2026 Hall of Fame class and an example of what it means to be a Fighting Tiger.

Located in Cuthbert, Georgia, Andrew College is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. The Fighting Tigers sponsor 16 sports and compete in the Southern States Athletic Conference.
