CUTHBERT, Ga. – On Saturday, Aug. 29, Andrew College Men's Soccer will make history as the first team in Andrew College Athletics history to compete at home as a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC). The Fighting Tigers will take the pitch at 1 p.m as they face Johnson University out of Tennessee.

Coming off a tough 4-0 loss to Georgia Southwestern State University on Thursday, the Fighting Tigers are looking to bounce back and find the win column Saturday. Johnson University began its season with a dominant 6-1 win over Asbury on Wednesday, Aug. 19, so Saturday's matchup will be a true test of defensive discipline as well as determination on the offensive end.

Despite their loss to GSW, the Fighting Tigers played tremendous defense against the Hurricanes as goalkeeper Teagan Paulo logged 15 saves. Paulo was part of a strong defensive effort alongside Dumisani Ziyaya Chatata and Petar Gromiko.

Facing an NCAA Division II opponent, the Fighting Tigers earned their namesake as they held the Hurricanes scoreless through nearly 30 minutes of play and held them to just one goal in the first half. Andrew will look to build on that defensive effort while creating more opportunities on the offensive end Saturday.

As Andrew makes history Saturday, the Fighting Tigers will look to become the first Andrew College intercollegiate team to secure a win as a member of the NAIA. With captains Ethan Friday and Ziyaya Chatata eager to get back on the pitch, the Fighting Tigers will look to bounce back and put together a strong performance in front of their home crowd.

Located in Cuthbert, Georgia, Andrew College is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. The Fighting Tigers sponsor 16 sports and compete in the Southern States Athletic Conference.
