Box Score CUTHBERT, Ga. – On Saturday, Sept. 12, the Fighting Tigers faced off against the Tennessee Southern Firehawks for their second straight conference game. Andrew fell, 3-0, for its third straight loss of the season.

Saturday's game was a hard-fought battle from the opening whistle. Tennessee Southern broke through in the 21st minute on a goal from Lorick Gustave, giving the Firehawks a 1-0 advantage heading into halftime.

Early in the second half, the Fighting Tigers were looking for the equalizer. However, off a penalty kick, Ben Chretien gave Tennessee Southern a 2-0 lead in the 51st minute. Despite the deficit, the Fighting Tigers continued to play strong defense in the box, especially Petar Gromiko, who contributed several key defensive stops throughout the match to keep Andrew within striking distance.

Unfortunately, Chretien's penalty kick was one of two converted by the Firehawks on the afternoon. In the 87th minute, Filippo Fregoli added to Tennessee Southern's lead with a penalty kick of his own to secure the 3-0 advantage.

The Fighting Tigers finished with four shots, including two on goal, while Tennessee Southern recorded 31 shots with 21 on goal. Andrew's goalkeeper play helped keep the Fighting Tigers within striking distance for much of the match, as Andrew finished with 18 saves.

Andrew College will look to bounce back in its next matchup as the Fighting Tigers continue their first season competing in the NAIA and Southern States Athletic Conference. The Fighting Tigers return to action Thursday, Sept. 17, against Talladega College at Hord Athletic Complex.
