CUTHBERT, Ga - In their home opener against nonconference opponent Trinity College of Florida, the Fighting Tigers fell 3-2. Andrew opened the match in dominant fashion, building a 2-0 lead. However, the Fighting Tigers were unable to recapture their early magic and ultimately fell in five sets.

Thursday's loss marked Andrew's fifth straight defeat and its second consecutive loss to Trinity. Through the opening two sets, the Fighting Tigers played stellar defense at the net and maintained offensive pressure, winning the first set 25-17 and the second 25-23. After Andrew led throughout much of the third set, Trinity rallied to take the frame 27-25.

The Fighting Tigers lost the final two sets by a combined six points. Despite holding a much-needed lead in each of the first four sets, Andrew was unable to close out the match and secure its first win inside the newly renovated Jinks Gymnasium.

The Fighting Tigers return to the court Friday, Sept. 18, when they hit the road to face Blue Mountain Christian University in a highly anticipated conference matchup.
