Box Score CUTHBERT, Ga. – Coming off their first home win of the season, the Fighting Tigers faced the Brewton-Parker Barons in a conference matchup at Jinks Gymnasium on Saturday, Sept. 26. The Fighting Tigers fell in straight sets, 3-0.
Following Saturday's loss, the Fighting Tigers are 2-11 on the season and 1-4 in conference play.
How It Happened
In the opening set, the Lady Tigers got off to a slow start but had some bright moments from
Angelina Chambrey and
Maddie Veilleux. However, unforced errors and the Barons' offensive power were the story of the match.
In the first frame, Chambrey displayed her power but unfortunately finished the set with four errors. Following her monster night against Wesleyan College on Friday,
Ja'Nyshia Graham delivered an impressive service ace and block to cut the Barons' lead to single digits, 21-12. Her block had the crowd going crazy and gave the Fighting Tigers some much needed momentum heading into the next set.
Coming into the second frame, the Fighting Tigers got off to an early 3-0 lead, but unforced errors quickly allowed the Barons to tie the match.
Chambrey also displayed her power with a strong kill to give the Fighting Tigers a 4-3 lead. However, that would be one of their last leads of the frame as Brewton-Parker took the second set, 25-16.
The third set was unfortunately more of the same. The Fighting Tigers were unable to get their offensive game going, and multiple errors helped give the Barons an early lead. Brewton-Parker went on to take the final frame, 25-15, and secure the win in straight sets.

The Fighting Tigers return to action Friday, Oct. 2, against Point University in West Point, Ga.

- Angelina Chambrey recorded a team-high five kills, accounting for half of Andrew's 10 kills in the match.
- Emily Calhoun finished with a team-high eight assists and added a service ace on the afternoon.
- Na'Laya Singleton recorded one kill on two attempts with zero errors, hitting .500.
