CUTHBERT, Ga. – On Friday, Sept. 4, Andrew College Men's and Women's Cross Country made history as the Fighting Tigers competed in the VSU Border Clash hosted by Valdosta State University. Friday's meet marked their first cross country competition of the 2026 season and first as members of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC).

On the women's side, the Fighting Tigers competed alongside ABAC, Albany State, Baptist University of Florida, Central Florida, Enterprise State Community College, Flagler, Georgia Southwestern, LBW Community College, Pensacola State College, Thomas University and Valdosta State.
The men's field included ABAC, Baptist University of Florida, Enterprise State Community College, Flagler, Florida College, Georgia Southwestern, LBW Community College, Thomas University and Valdosta State.
Freshman
Cesar Posada was the highest finisher for the Fighting Tigers, recording a time of 32:05 in the men's 7.25K race and securing 29 points for Andrew. The Fighting Tigers totaled 177 points to finish seventh in the team standings.
On the women's side, freshmen
Tatianna Lundy,
Khadijatou Tall and
Julia Folds race for the Fighting Tigers.
"Overall we met our goals as a program at our first meet," Head Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach McKinley Ward-La Salle said. "The men all finished their race. The women ran in their first distance competitions ever and had decent efforts. For a first year program at its opening meet we are right where we should be."
The Fighting Tigers return to the course in Albany on Sept. 11 as the men compete in the Willie Laster XC Invite at Albany State University. The women will take a week off before heading north for the UNG XC Invite on Sept. 18.
Located in Cuthbert, Georgia, Andrew College is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The Fighting Tigers sponsor 16 sports and compete in the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC).
