Woin Hughes

Woin Hughes enters his first year as an Assistant Basketball Coach for the Fighting Tigers.

Hughes brings a wealth of basketball experience to Andrew College, with a coaching and player development background that spans Ohio, Texas and Georgia. His foundation in basketball training began at the University of Toledo, where his passion for player development became the foundation of his coaching career.

Prior to Andrew College, Hughes worked with both the boys and girls basketball programs at Milton High School, serving in Player Development for the boys program and as a Head Assistant Coach for the girls program. During the 2025-26 season, he helped the Milton girls capture a region championship and advance to the state tournament.

Hughes previously served as a Head Assistant Coach at King's Ridge Christian School, contributing to one of the most successful stretches in program history. During his tenure, King's Ridge captured its first region championship, made its first Elite Eight and Final Four appearances and advanced to the state championship game, finishing as the state runner-up in Georgia.

His coaching journey also includes head assistant coaching experience at Midtown High School in Atlanta and John F. Kennedy High School in Warren, Ohio. Throughout each stop, Hughes has focused on building competitive programs, mentoring student-athletes and creating opportunities for players to continue their basketball careers at the next level.

Hughes' impact extends beyond the sidelines through 2Elite Training, where he has worked with more than 500 athletes at the youth, high school, collegiate, professional and international levels. His basketball evaluation experience has also expanded into the professional ranks, including conducting player evaluations for NBA Hall of Famer, Dwight Howard.

Throughout his coaching career, Hughes' philosophy has been centered around development, accountability, competitiveness and opportunity. His goal is to help players maximize their abilities, understand the game at a higher level and put themselves in a position to succeed both on and off the court.
