WEST POINT, Ga. – On Saturday, Sept. 19, the Fighting Tigers traveled to West Point, Ga., for a conference matchup against Point University. The Fighting Tigers fell, 2-1, dropping to 2-6 on the season.
Throughout the first half, the Fighting Tigers played stifling defense and kept the game scoreless through nearly 40 minutes of play. Then, in the 39th minute,
Giovanni Alquicira recorded his first goal of the season to give the Fighting Tigers a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
In the 48th minute, Point's Jaime Martin delivered the equalizer to tie the game at 1-1. Unfortunately for the Fighting Tigers, they were unable to regain the momentum and retake the lead in the second half.
With around 25 minutes remaining, Okikiade Faduyile found the back of the net in the 66th minute, assisted by Moritz Dalias for his second assist of the game. The Skyhawks held onto the lead for the remainder of the match to secure the 2-1 victory.
The Fighting Tigers return to action Thursday, Sept. 24, for a non-conference matchup against Freed-Hardeman University out of Tennessee at 3 p.m. The match will take place at Hord Athletic Complex.

- The Fighting Tigers were issued three yellow cards in the match: Petar Gromiko (two) and Ethan Friday.
- Goalkeeper Teagan Paulo recorded four saves on six shots on goal.
- Andrew recorded four shots on the day, with two on goal.
- Saturday's goal marked Alquicira's first of the season.
