Box Score BLAKELY, Ga. – On Saturday, Sept. 5, the Fighting Tigers returned to Standifer Field in Blakely, Ga., as they opened their home schedule for the 2026 regular season. With the stands rocking, cheerleaders waving their poms and students flooding the stadium, Andrew was ready to fight for its home field. Unfortunately, the Fighting Tigers fell in their second straight game, 35-5, to No. 20 Georgetown College.

The Fighting Tigers got off to a strong start defensively as they capitalized on a bad snap for their first safety of the season, jumping out to an early 2-0 lead. Then, midway through the first quarter, Andrew tacked on to its lead with a season-long 45-yard field goal from Giovanni Quinones, giving the Fighting Tigers a 5-0 advantage.

Despite their early lead, the Fighting Tigers were unable to find the end zone through the remainder of the game as Georgetown responded with 35 unanswered points.

Coming into Saturday's matchup, fans knew this would be a tough test as Andrew faced the No. 20-ranked Tigers. However, the Fighting Tigers were unable to gain much momentum on the offensive side of the ball. Andrew finished the game with just three first downs compared to Georgetown's 17.
Despite the loss, Andrew found several bright spots, particularly on defense and special teams. The Fighting Tigers recorded two sacks for a total loss of 16 yards and finished with 56 return yards compared to just 15 from Georgetown.

Kody Sudduth also provided a strong performance in the punting game, recording four punts for 158 yards and averaging 39.5 yards per punt.
The Fighting Tigers return to action Saturday, Sept. 12, when they travel to Kentucky to face the University of Pikeville.
