CUTHBERT, Ga. – With inclement weather expected due to Tropical Storm Isaias, the Andrew College Football team will now face Cumberland University out of Lebanon, Tenn., on Sunday, Oct. 11. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Standifer Field in Blakely, Ga.

This will mark the first time the Fighting Tigers have played back-to-back home contests this season as they look to secure their first win of the year in a rare Sunday afternoon matchup.

Previously on the Gridiron

In their last game against Clayton State University, the Fighting Tigers fell, 23-20, for their fifth consecutive loss of the season.

The Lakers out of Morrow, Ga., got off to an early 7-0 lead thanks to a rushing touchdown from running back Savion West. However, despite their early lead and an unfortunate safety that extended Clayton State's advantage to 9-0, the Fighting Tigers battled back to take a 19-15 lead in the third quarter.

With around four minutes remaining in the third quarter, Ja'Quan Billings tumbled into the end zone for a touchdown, giving Andrew a four-point advantage.

Unfortunately, with just under two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, the Lakers drove down the field and capped off their hurry-up offense with a touchdown pass from DeAngelo Walton to give Clayton State a 21-20 advantage. Following a successful two-point conversion, the Lakers extended their lead to 23-20, an advantage they would not surrender, handing Andrew its fifth loss of the season.

The Opponent: The Phoenix

Although they have fallen out of the NAIA Top 25, Cumberland has been one of the more competitive teams in the NAIA this season. The Phoenix enter Sunday's matchup 3-2 overall and are coming off a narrow 21-19 loss to No. 24 Georgetown College on Oct. 3.

The Phoenix will look to return to the win column Sunday as they face the Fighting Tigers for the first time in program history.
