CUTHBERT, Ga. – On Saturday, Oct. 3, the Fighting Tigers will take the field against Clayton State University out of Morrow, Ga. This marks their sixth game of the season and third home contest of the year. Saturday's game is set for a 3 p.m. kickoff and will be a tough matchup against a Clayton State squad that has been on an offensive tear this season.
Previously on the Gridiron
In their last matchup against Thomas University, the Fighting Tigers fell, 43-34, for their fourth straight loss of the season. Stats from Andrew's game against Tennessee Valley do not count toward its official record.
Thomas got off to a dominant start, taking a 29-0 lead into halftime. However, the Fighting Tigers battled back and eventually cut the deficit to two points, 36-34, following an impressive touchdown run from
Kaleb George, his second of the day.
Despite battling back and dominating much of the second half, including outscoring the Night Hawks 34-14 after halftime, it wasn't enough for the Fighting Tigers to walk away with the win.
The Opponent: The Lakers
The Lakers enter Saturday's matchup following an impressive start to the season, highlighted by dominant wins over Lighthouse College, 38-0, and Talladega College, 24-9.
Clayton State will look to build on its strong start and pick up another road win. However, with the Fighting Tigers eager to find the win column, Saturday's matchup will provide Andrew with another opportunity to break through at home.
