CUTHBERT, Ga. – Following a hard-fought battle in their season opener, the Andrew College Men's Basketball team will hit the road for the first time this season as the Fighting Tigers travel to Brunswick, Ga., to face the College of Coastal Georgia on Saturday, Oct. 31.
Andrew will look to bounce back from Wednesday night's loss against Georgia Southern University East and secure its first victory of the 2026-27 season as the Fighting Tigers continue their inaugural campaign in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC).
Last Time Beyond the Arc
In their season opener against Georgia Southern University East on Wednesday, Oct. 28, the Fighting Tigers came out with intensity in front of their home crowd at the newly renovated Jinks Gymnasium.
Andrew jumped out to an early lead following a thunderous dunk from
Saulamon Evans and continued to build momentum throughout the opening minutes. The Fighting Tigers eventually extended their advantage to nine points, 17-8, before the Golden Eagles began to work their way back into the contest.
Despite Andrew's strong start, turnovers and personal fouls allowed Georgia Southern East to regain control. The Fighting Tigers entered halftime trailing by just four points, 39-35.
Unfortunately, Andrew was unable to find its offensive rhythm in the second half. Despite continuing to battle, the Fighting Tigers were unable to reclaim the lead, eventually falling to the Golden Eagles, 86-74.
Andrew was led offensively by
Amir Rosa, who finished with a team-high 22 points, five rebounds and one steal. He was one of three Fighting Tigers to score in double figures, alongside
Saulamon Evans with 15 points and
K'Shawn Scott with 14.
