CUTHBERT, Ga. – Following a tough road matchup against the College of Coastal Georgia, the Andrew College Men's Basketball team will return to action Tuesday, Nov. 3, as the Fighting Tigers travel to Graceville, Fla., to face Baptist University of Florida.
Andrew will look to bounce back from Saturday afternoon's double-digit loss against the Mariners and secure its first victory of the 2026-27 season as the Fighting Tigers continue their inaugural campaign in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC).
Last Time Beyond the Arc
In their first road game of the 2026-27 season, the Fighting Tigers traveled to Brunswick, Ga., on Saturday, Oct. 31, to face the College of Coastal Georgia Mariners. Andrew entered the matchup looking to bounce back from its season-opening loss against Georgia Southern University East and secure its first victory of the season.
The Fighting Tigers came out battling early, keeping the contest competitive throughout the opening minutes. Andrew held a three-point advantage during the first half before Coastal Georgia began to take control of the matchup.
Despite Andrew's efforts, the Mariners were able to build momentum and establish a 15-point advantage heading into halftime, 42-27. Unfortunately, Andrew was unable to overcome Coastal Georgia's first-half advantage, eventually falling to the Mariners, 96-73.
Andrew was led offensively by
Saulamon Evans and
J'mari Greene, who each finished with a team-high 13 points off the bench. Evans connected on three shots from beyond the arc, while Greene shot 4-of-6 from the field and 2-of-2 from three-point range.
Amir Rosa and
K'Shawn Scott also contributed offensively, finishing with 10 points and seven rebounds apiece.
Despite the loss, Andrew showed improvement offensively in the second half and will look to carry that momentum into Tuesday's matchup.
Fighting Tigers to Watch: Saulamon Evans and J'mari Greene
Heading into Tuesday's matchup, Evans and Greene will be two Fighting Tigers to watch as Andrew looks to secure its first victory of the season.
Evans has been a consistent offensive contributor through the Fighting Tigers' first two games, scoring 15 points in the season opener against Georgia Southern East before adding 13 against Coastal Georgia.
Alongside Evans, Greene provided an offensive spark off the bench against the Mariners, finishing with 13 points in just 15 minutes. Greene was efficient from the field, connecting on four of his six shot attempts, including both attempts from beyond the arc. He also added three free throws to help lead Andrew's second-half offensive effort.
The Opponent: The Eagles
The Fighting Tigers will face the Baptist University of Florida Eagles in their first meeting of the 2026-27 season. The Eagles will look to defend their home court as Andrew travels to Graceville, Fla., for its second consecutive road game.
For the Fighting Tigers, the matchup will provide another opportunity to establish consistency on both sides of the ball as they continue adjusting to competition at the NAIA level.
