CUTHBERT, Ga - On Thursday, Aug. 27, the Andrew College Men's Soccer team will make history as it plays its first regular-season game as a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC). The Fighting Tigers will take the pitch against Georgia Southwestern at 7 p.m. at Hurricane Field in Americus, Ga.

Thursday evening's matchup is part of GSW's ninth annual "Under the Lights" event, which will feature post-match fireworks and several attractions across the Georgia Southwestern campus.

As members of the SSAC, the Fighting Tigers are joining a highly competitive conference that currently features four undefeated teams, including William Carey, Life, Faulkner and UT Southern. With their first regular-season matchup coming against a strong NCAA Division II opponent in GSW, Thursday's contest will provide an early test to see how the Fighting Tigers stack up as they prepare for conference play.

Despite some unfortunate injuries, expect strong play from captains Ethan Friday and Dumisani Ziyaya Chatata, along with goalkeeper Teagan Paulo. Each of the Fighting Tigers standouts had strong outings through two exhibition matchups and will look to carry that play into the regular season.
