CUTHBERT, Ga. – Following her impressive week against Wesleyan College and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, defender/goalkeeper Millie Wilson earned her first career Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Defensive Player of the Week honor.
After an unfortunate injury to starting goalkeeper Samantha Ray, Wilson was thrust in front of the net and delivered back-to-back impressive performances. Wilson finished the week with 23 saves and allowed just one goal over her two appearances.
Wilson highlighted her week with a career-high 20 saves against ABAC, helping the Fighting Tigers secure a scoreless draw and her first clean sheet of the season.
Wilson played 65 minutes and was a brick wall every second, providing a strong defensive presence for the Fighting Tigers.
The Fighting Tigers return to SSAC play Thursday, Oct. 1, against Dalton State College. The match will be played at Hord Athletic Complex in Cuthbert, Ga.
Located in Cuthbert, Georgia, Andrew College is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. The Fighting Tigers sponsor 16 sports and compete in the Southern States Athletic Conference.
