CUTHBERT, Ga. – The Fighting Tigers are coming off their first tie of the season and will look to build on that success as they face conference opponent Dalton State College on Thursday, Oct. 1.

Thursday's matchup marks the first meeting between the two schools in program history.

Previously on the Pitch

Prior to their last match against Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College on Sept. 25, the Fighting Tigers were riding a five-game losing streak to begin the season. In search of their first win, the Fighting Tigers instead ended their losing streak with their first tie of the season.

While it may not have been the expected or desired outcome, the Fighting Tigers hope to build on their newfound success and take the next step toward securing their first victory.

In their last match against ABAC, the Fighting Tigers put together an impressive defensive performance, led by team captain Millie Wilson. In Friday's match, Wilson recorded a career-high 20 saves and finished the week with 23 saves and just one goal allowed.

Her outstanding performance earned her SSAC Defensive Player of the Week honors, marking the first time in her career she has received the award.

The Opponent: The Roadrunners

The Roadrunners enter Thursday's matchup with a 4-3-4 record on the season. However, they are coming off their worst loss of the year following a 6-0 defeat at the hands of No. 11 William Carey.

With the Fighting Tigers in search of their first win, the Roadrunners will look to make things difficult as they aim to return to the win column and move up in the conference standings.

Dalton State currently sits in sixth place in the SSAC standings with a 2-3-1 conference record.
