CUTHBERT, Ga. – On Thursday, Sept. 3, the Andrew College Women's Soccer team will take the pitch for its first game of the season against Talladega College out of Alabama. The match marks the Lady Tigers' first home game of the season and their first official contest as members of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC).
The Fighting Tigers enter Thursday's matchup riding high after a 3-0 exhibition win over Agnes Scott the previous week. Andrew will look to attack early and carry that momentum into its regular-season opener.
The Lady Tigers will face a strong Tornadoes team coming off a 4-0 win over Blue Mountain to open the season. In their win over the Lady Rams, the Tornadoes controlled the ball throughout the match, outshooting Blue Mountain 21-5 while holding a 12-2 advantage in shots on goal.
Talladega's play on the pitch was highlighted by Cycoiah Wattley, who logged two goals, while Amelia Tiggs and Mikayla Stutts each contributed two assists.
The Fighting Tigers are coming off a tough 2025 season. However, under the leadership of Head Coach Carnell Learmond, Andrew will look to change the tide as the program begins its first season in the SSAC. With strong play expected from freshmen
Levy Torres,
Alyssa Wilkes and
Natalya Riden, this year's team looks much different from years past.
The Lady Tigers take the field at 4 p.m. at Hord Athletic Complex.
Located in Cuthbert, Georgia, Andrew College is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. The Fighting Tigers sponsor 16 sports and compete in the Southern States Athletic Conference.
