Tigers Carry Momentum Into GCAA Tournament
CUTHBERT, Ga - On Tuesday, May 5, the Andrew College baseball team will travel to Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College to compete in the 2026 GCAA conference tournament, officially beginning postseason play.
The Cut Boys will face South Georgia State with a 3 p.m. first pitch.
In their final regular-season game on Thursday, April 30, the Fighting Tigers earned an 11-7 victory over the Hawks to secure the third-place seed in the conference tournament. The win was highlighted by five home runs from Luke Meszar, Cameron Kenney, Jose Massanet and the first multi-homer game from Kai Huber in his Andrew Baseball career.
Huber finished with career highs in both home runs and RBI, tallying five RBI on the night. On the mound, RHP Nicholas Sloane allowed six runs over 5.2 innings, while RHP Brady Cunningham shut down the Hawks' comeback effort, allowing just one hit and one run over 3.1 innings.
Andrew enters Tuesday's matchup with momentum, but South Georgia State (14-14) sits in second place in the GCAA and has proven to be a tough conference opponent throughout the season.
The conference tournament will follow a double-elimination format. Tournament results, breaking news and statistics will be updated as they become available. Visit AndrewFightingTigers.com for more information and follow @athleticsandrew on social media for updates.
